When you don’t want to, that’s when you should.

There are so many obligations we are faced with on a daily basis. So many things we don’t necessarily enjoy doing, but are obligated to. Then there are all the other things, the things that get pushed to the back burner. Then, there are the other activities that we often neglect; the ones which are actually most likely to provide us with a sense of peace, joy, accomplishment, fulfillment, etc. These activities are the ones we never seem to have time for: creativity, entrepreneurship, meditating, exercise, and on and on. Even when it comes to finances, most people who have a budget pay bills first, and self, last; often leaving little left over to do a little something for yourself. This often leaves people feeling impoverished, saying, “I work so hard, what do I have to show for it?” The same goes for our time.

Damn it, I work hard and if I can’t find time to do the things that make me happy, things that keep my spiritual cup running over, I will be drained, and unable to remain good at what I do. And I love what I do, and I don’t want to just be good, but great! Therefore, I have to constantly and consistently work to keep myself in optimal condition, mentally, spiritually, and physically. I have to work smarter, not necessarily harder, to ensure I have managed my time well enough to have built in the pieces that ensure my success as an individual. I know when I get off work most days I am spent, and what little energy I have it usually goes to my children, prepping for the following day, or just trying to get a little quiet time and rest. But I have goals outside of anyone’s job, and I have dreams and aspirations, and those cannot take form without dedicating time and effort each day toward whatever I want to accomplish, even when I don’t want to. The days when you don’t want to are the days you must continue to put some effort forth toward paying you, whatever that means for you.

Here’s my rationale: Consistency is the only way you are going to ensure you build and born the world of your creation. In other words, whatever it is you desire to manifest on this physical plane, you need to be consistently working toward making it a reality. Therefore, on those days when you are too tired, too drained, fed up, disgusted, those are the most important days to make sure you dig your heels in and do the work on and for you. Because dropping the ball, will keep you in that rut. Take small steps at first. Create a challenge each day for one week. Meet that daily challenge, and after 7 days, move on to another challenge or expand the initial one. With time, it will become routine, and you will start to look forward to meeting and exceeding that next challenge, because you will have some successes under your belt that show and prove YOU CAN DO IT and YOU CAN MAKE TIME! Time is not a luxury for most of us, and it is the one form of currency that does not flow back to us. Spend it wisely, and spend some of it on YOU, there is no greater investment!
